This frame can be set up as either a 5’ or a 10’ frame depending on preference. I have it set up at the 10’ length and have quilted king size quilts on it. This machine is capable of sewing complicated computerized designs automatically or it can be used to free motion with handles mounted on the front and back. There are a lot of designs already loaded on it but you can find thousands of designs online for download pretty reasonably. This machine uses the file type: .HQF. If paper pantographs are your thing, it is set up to do that as well. This machine will also let you do the fancy custom quilting you have only dreamed of. You can even decorate your quilt tops with pretty cordage using one of the three different sized cording feet. I have often used this machine to pre-quilt fabric before using it to make quilted bags, accessories, etc.
Space required:
Minimum of 15” behind the frame so that the machine will not contact the wall when the machine is all the way back. As I have it set up in the 10’ configuration the total width of the frame is 11’ long. The light bar is free standing so you will need a few extra inches of space for the legs to sit on either end of the frame. Measuring from the wall behind it to the front of the belly bar is 4’8” (don’t forget to give yourself space to work in the front.) There is plenty of storage space under the frame (the ALEX drawer units, not included, from IKEA fit under there perfectly.)
If you have never done automated quilting before there is a learning curve. Fortunately, Babylock and lots of other content creators have made videos to walk you through every possible aspect online. There are even Facebook groups dedicated to each brand of longarm where you can ask questions and share tips. The Babylock community is always ready to help and it really is a great company to deal with.
I am selling this machine because I have decided to move to a larger frame as most of my projects are quite large.
Pick up in Greenwood, SC. Payment in cash or bank verified cashiers check.
