Handmade Knotted Wool Rug showing a lovely paisley pattern against a midnight blue background, framed by a main border with colorful cross-shaped motifs and bright bands with small carnations. Sturdy, thick pile, one small repaired patch in the field.

Rare to find a large Iranian handmade pre-1939 area rug at this price
Transparency: The one small repair was done about 10 years ago (2013) by Bebirian and Temoyan in Merchantville, NJ. They did a very nice job and it is thick and supple. This rug was used by the parents of my in-laws in Vienna, Austria pre-1939. Non-Jewish relatives stored them until after the war.
