Selling our 2004 Honda Odyssey EX-L with just under 264,000 miles on it. We recently bought a newer van, but this one has been our daily driver on local and long trips for the past 7 years. We bought the van with somewhere around 135,000 miles on it.
The good:
It’s a Honda.
Leather interior
Cold a/c
Aftermarket Bluetooth system installed and works with stock radio (GTA car kit)
Power steering pump replaced January 2025
Starter replaced February 2025
Tires replaced at 259,000 miles, it is ready for a rotate and balance (tires were bought at Discount Tire)
Power steering pressure hose replaced August 2025
Regular maintenance kept up, most of it is outlined in a small notebook in the glove box.
The bad:
It has the normal wear and tear of a 22 year old van.
Driver’s arm rest has been worn out
Passenger seat does not go forward/back
Some paint chipping, flaking, normal scratches and such that come with age
Good bit of road noise when driving
Rear windows work sometimes and sometimes they don’t. I replaced the motors in them about 3 years ago and they continue to give us spotty performance.
Automatic sliding doors work reliably from the buttons up front but do not always close when you pull on the door handle.
Windshield has been replaced a couple of times. It seems this last time it did not seal properly. Occasionally a few water droplets run down the inside.
I was told by my mechanic it will need a rack and pinion in 15,000-20,000 miles as it has a small leak. It could need that, or you can top it off as it gets low.
The skinny:
I live in Michigan, this car is with my parents in the Greenville, SC area. It is originally a Georgia van that we purchased in 2018 and then moved to Michigan at the beginning of 2021 so it has only seen 4 Michigan winters!
Please ask any and all questions to me beforehand, my dad will be happy to meet you to show you the car/let you drive it, but he will not have any answers to your questions. The van can be seen near Bob Jones University. My dad will have the title ready to go once the purchase is made.
This has been a good van, we stayed with Honda for our next van, it was just time for us to move on.
