The SL-D3's are built like like tanks, same as the D1's, D2's and D5's. These are heavy well built tables which have a great look and feel. I thoroughly went through this table, cleaned the speed pot, lubed all of the necessary components and set the proper tracking force. The stylus is at the 52 mm measurement, which is Technics spec. This is a plug and play ready table which looks and sounds great. If you want to try a different cartridge on the table it's no problem. Currently a highly regarded AT cart with a new elliptical stylus sit on the table and perform great, but I will probably be changing them out in the near future. You'll always have a pick of the carts I have in stock.
I've started to install female RCA connections on the back of select tables (entire inventory eventually) in order to reduce the risk of the male RCA connections failing. This is a somewhat rare occurrence but these cables are 40 plus years old and it does happen. You can know use the RCA cables of your choice or use the pair that I include with the table. I do retain the factory wire cinch for the ground wire which is very helpful. I did some research and found that self grounding these tables does not add any sonic benefit so I left the ground wire as originally installed.
All of my tables have been thoroughly gone through, serviced and require little if any maintenance. The minimum that each table goes through is the following, motor bearings lubed, replace and refresh any old grease with white lithium grease, clean the speed pots with QD contact cleaner and set all of the tonearm functions accordingly. All functions will operate correctly or the turntable will not be sold! In the future if you need any help or have questions just give me a call, text or email, I'll always make myself available. Furthermore I'll never sell a table I wouldn't personally use on a daily basis. I believe in my product and stand behind my turntables!
I've been restoring Technics Tables going on four years now and have sold just about 350 tables in that time. The reason I started this hobby was because I wanted people to realize how truly amazing vinyl can sound on a quality system. I kept seeing people purchasing these toy tables with built in speakers that reminded me of the Fisher Price table I had when I was eight. New records (yeah, I'm old) aren't cheap, please don't spend more on a new album than you do on a turntable, you'll just end up regretting the purchase. I do work out of my house, but obviously this keeps my overhead incredibly low. I stand behind what I sell and would listen to any of my albums on the tables I have for sale. When you purchase a table from me I will answer any of your questions and explain the table to you in detail. I would estimate that customers are at my house anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes on average. I want you to feel comfortable with your purchase.
