All of the electrolytic capacitors have been recently replaced.
The SL-235 is the belt driven version of the SL-3350. This table was nicely maintained throughout the years. I did go through it extensively and disassembled all of the auto function bushings and added fresh lube to all of them. All auto functions work perfectly now, and it holds speed great (cleaned speed pots with DeoxitDN5 contact cleaner). A new belt and
vintage Pickering cart and stylus are included. I change my carts often so you can have a pick of what you would like. Great old school table with a fantastic look. Single spindle included.
Here is a quick summary of the maintenance and restoration process for each turntable.
* All electrolytic capacitors replaced with quality components. Film capacitors or used in some instances for better performance.
* Speed selector switch and both internal and external speed potentiometers deoxed with DN5
* Tonearm bearings checked, lubed, and adjusted if necessary.
* RCA cable ends and tonearm to headshell connection points polished for superior connectivity. If the RCA cables are in bad condition I will replace them with gold plated units.
* Spindle lubed with the appropriate light weight oil.
* Internal auto function levers, bushings, etc., relubed. This procedure varies the most from model to model.
* All solder connections checked for cold joints.
* Dustcover hinges tightened.
* Cue damping fluid checked for proper viscosity and drop down rate. Replaced if necessary.
* Turntable is cleaned and the dustcover is polished.
* Lastly the table is thoroughly tested for proper performance.
All of my tables have been thoroughly gone through, serviced, and require little if any maintenance. The minimum that each table goes through is the following, motor bearings lubed, replace and refresh any old grease with white lithium grease, clean the speed pots with QD contact cleaner and set all of the tonearm functions accordingly. All functions will operate correctly, or the turntable will not be sold! In the future, if you need any help or have questions, just give me a call, text, or email, I'll always make myself available. Furthermore, I'll never sell a table I wouldn't personally use on a daily basis. I believe in my product and stand behind my turntables!
I've been restoring Technics turntables for just under ten years, with almost 1000 tables sold in that time. The reason I started this hobby was because I wanted people to realize how good records can sound with a quality turntable. New LPs aren't cheap. Please don't spend more on a new album than you do on a turntable, you'll just end up regretting the purchase. I do work out of my house, but obviously, this keeps my overhead incredibly low. I stand behind what I sell and would listen to any of my albums on the tables I have for sale. When you purchase a table from me, I will answer any of your questions and explain the table to you in detail. I would estimate that customers are at my house anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes on average. I want you to feel comfortable with your purchase.
