Lions, Who we are
Lions is the largest service organization in the world with 1.4 million members wordwide in 210 countries, territories and geographical areas.
We have been voted #1 non-government organization in the world by Time magazine.
We use no public funds to support Lions clubs; our dues cover that.
Helen Keller came to our 1925 Convention and asked us to be her “Knights of the Blind in a Crusade Against Darkness” and since then we have been known as the “Knights of the Blind” worldwide.
We have camps for kids, guide dogs for the visually impaired, and provide glasses and vision care for those who cannot afford them. We also provide hearing services and hearing aids as well.
But most of all “we serve”, in our communities and worldwide where there are needs.
The Easley Lions Club is seeking new members to take part in ongoing projects in our community and to bring new ideas to a tradition of service. Please contact me or anyone else listed on the website for more information.http://www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/easley/
