job title: Fabricator
Manufacture Rail assembly components / parts by reading blueprints and drawings, aligning
components and using Hand tools, Manual machines and CNC machines to complete Quality
fabricated subcomponents for the assembly process.

 Review technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the requirements for
metal fabrication for rail products.
 Cut, bend, and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as
saws, lathes, drill presses, mills, brake press and grinders.
 Assemble and construct metal products, ensuring that the final product is accurate,
functional, and meets the required specifications.
 Take accurate measurements of work piece and gauges for production
 Perform equipment and tooling Preventative Maintenance as required.
 5S Clean and maintain work area.
 Focus on maintaining quality and craftsmanship in the products fabricated
 Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent experience in related discipline; a certification in metal plus

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Proven experience as a Fabricator or a similar role in a manufacturing/fabrication
environment Fundamental knowledge of adhesive and fasteners.
• Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the
fabrication process
• Working with Production Manager and team leaders, making every effort to maintain
production schedules, and limiting waste, scrap, re-works or turn backs.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of physical positions
Competencies and Skills
• Must have and demonstrate excellent conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal
communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation skills, supply
management, tooling, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, and judgment
• Must have working command of the English language • Must be able to read, write and
interpret the English language
• Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions,
simple written memos and instructions)
• Basic computer skills preferred

Physical Requirements
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of physical positions
• Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment
• Employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate
dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most
manufacturing operations.
• May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
• Safety glasses with side shields, Steel Toe shoes or boots and hearing protection required
when on manufacturing floor.
• The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear
