Ok....I'm on an amp purge. Never thought I'd do this either, but my Lil'King S is for sale too.
I had Wayne build this one for me last year. I had him load and bias it for EL34's.
I upgraded with a Scholz SugarCone R-1 British style speaker. $200 upgrade.
The Scholz reminds me of a British voiced EV.
The amp is slightly British flavored, but never looses the blackface sound.
This amp sounds fantastic. No issues except the grill cloth.
You will notice 2 damaged spots on the grill. When I was changing the speakers, the Scholz would not fit until I removed about a 1/4" of wood from the side of the flange that holds the baffle board. That all went smoothly, however, as I was finishing, the sanding wheel on my Dremel tool cracked into two pieces. They fell onto the inside of the grill. ( I didn't prepare for the worst and guard the inside of the grill from 2 red hot grinding wheel pieces!) All of a sudden I noticed the grill was melting under a piece. Got it out.....then I grabbed the other piece! I was pissed. Luckily it was a burn/melt, so there is no fraying. This was all before the speaker went in so the speaker is not damaged whatsoever. The amp is in perfect condition except for those two spots.
My price reflects a $200 discount in case you want to have the grill replaced.
